Applying Finger (or Toe) Sensors
Adult Finger Sensors
Any finger except thumb on patients more than 50kg.
A-Series: M1191A or M1191AL
Special Edition (SE) A-Series: M1191ANL
B-Series: M1191B or M1191BL
Pediatric Finger Sensors
Any finger except thumb for patients between 15kg and 50kg
A-Series: M1192A
Special Edition (SE) A-Series: M1192AN
Infant Finger (or Toe) Sensors
Any finger or toe (except thumb) for patients between 4kg and 15kg.
Finger or toe diameter should measure from 7-8mm (0.27-0.31”).
A-Series: M1195A, or
Special Edition (SE) A-Series: M1195AN
Step Applying the Finger (or Toe) Sensor
1 Select appropriate sensor for patient size (defined above).
2 Position sensor over patient’s finger. If applying an adult finger
sensor, be sure the sensor cable is positioned ON TOP of the fin-
ger/hand as shown above.
3 Patient fingertip should touch but not protrude from end of sensor.
If necessary, trim the fingernail to correctly position the sensor.
4 If applying an adult finger sensor, secure the cable to BACK OF
HAND with M1627A wristband (supplied only with adult finger
sensors.)
5 Plug sensor into instrument (or into adapter cable if needed).
6 Inspect and change the sensor application site periodically.
