Cleaning and Storage
Storing the Vehicle
WARNING! Do not cover the vehicle while the charger is connected. Dangerous levels of hydrogen
gas could accumulate.
9. If the vehicle is not connected to the charger, disconnect the main power connector first,
then disconnect any electrical accessory connections, then disconnect the negative cable
from the 12-volt battery (if equipped), then disconnect the negative terminal from the
main battery pack. See page 53. Cover the vehicle with a genuine GEM vehicle cover.
Do not use plastic or coated materials. They do not allow enough ventilation to prevent
condensation, and may promote corrosion and oxidation.
Removal from Storage
1. Inspect all battery connections. Verify that batteries are fully charged.
2. Verify that tire pressure is at specification.
3. Perform the pre-ride inspection. See page 88.
4. Inspect and verify the tightness of the bolts, nuts and other fasteners.
