Spark Arrestor Clean-Out
Periodically clean the spark arrestor to remove accumula ted carbon.
1. Remove the three screws (1) and remove the arrestor (2)
from the end of the muffler.
2. Use a non-synthetic brush to clean the arrestor screen (3).
A synthetic brush may melt if components are warm. If
necessary, blow debris from the screen with compressed
air.
3. Inspect the screen for wear and damage. Replace if necessary.
4. Remove and inspect the gasket. Replace if worn or damaged.
5. Reinstall the gasket and arrestor.
6. Torque screws to 50 in. lbs. (5.6 Nm).
