40. Remove balance shaft and crankshaft.
41. Remove and inspect crankshaft main journal
bearings for abnormal wear. It is recommended to
replace the bearings anytime the engine is
disassembled.
NOTE: Plain bearing clearances may be checked
using a commercially available plasti-gauge
material.
Camshaft Inspection
1. Thoroughly clean the cam shaft.
2. Visually inspect each cam lobe for wear, chafing or
damage.
3. Measure height of each cam lobe using a
micrometer. Compare to specification.
