Installation
1. Apply anti-seize compound to splines of shaft.
2. Install a new lock ring and install the inner shaft.
3. Slide shaft assembly into the bearing carrier hub.
4. Lift bearing carrier into place and install bolt to upper
control arm. Torque bolt to specification.
Upper Hub Carrier Bolt:
37 ft-lbs (50 Nm)
5. Install hub, flat washer, domed washer (domed side
out) and nut. Torque center hub nut to specification.
Install new cotter pin and hub cap.
Rear Hub Nut:
80 ft-lbs (109 Nm)
6. Install brake caliper and tighten bolts to specification.
Refer to Chapter 9.
7. Install rear wheel and torque wheel nuts to
specification.
Wheel Nut:
Steel Wheels: 27 ft-lbs (37 Nm)
Aluminum Wheels: 30 ft-lbs (1 Nm) + 1/4 turn
8. Grease all fittings thoroughly with Premium U-Joint
Lubricant (PN 2871551).
