5. Attach front shock to upper A-arm with new fastener.
Torque new front shock fastener to specification.
TORQUE
Shock Mount Fasteners (Front/Rear, Upper/Lower)
40 ft-lbs (54 N·m)
6. Grease all A-arm grease fittings after reassembly.
7. Install the front wheel. Torque wheel nuts to
specification.
TORQUE
Wheel Lug Nuts
120 ft-lbs (162 N·m)
IMPORTANT
Upon A-arm installation completion, test vehicle at low
speeds before putting into service.
FRONT LOWER A-ARM INSTALLATION
1. Install new lower A-arm assembly onto vehicle frame.
Torque new fasteners to specification.
TORQUE
A-Arm Fasteners
40 ft-lbs (54 N·m)
2. Align lower A-arm with bearing carrier and install new
ball joint. See Ball Joint Installation page 9.20.
3. Install lower taper nut and torque nut to specification.
TORQUE
Upper and Lower Taper Nuts
45 ft-lbs (61 N·m)
4. Grease all A-arm grease fittings after reassembly.
5. Install the front wheel. Torque wheel nuts to
specification.
TORQUE
Wheel Lug Nuts
120 ft-lbs (162 N·m)
IMPORTANT
Upon A-arm installation completion, test vehicle at low
speeds before putting into service.
