Engine Assembly -- All Engines
31. Press a new seal into the stator housing. Seal lip faces
engine. Apply a thin, even layer of crankcase sealer to
the polished surfaces of the housing.
32. Lubricate the seal and crankshaft with a light film of
Polaris Premium All Season grease.
33. Install the stator housing to the engine. Only (3) bolts
canbeinstalledatthistime.
34. Install stator. Route wire harness so plug fits in stator
housing. Attach the wire protector with the remaining
stator housing bolt and (1) allen screw. Torque to
specification listed on pages 3.5 and 3.8.
35. Liberally grease the starter drive splines and shafts.
Insert into housing.

22ft.lbs. (30Nm)
Apply Loctitet 242 to Threads.
