Symptom Possible Problem Corrective Action
Low maximum RPM. EMM System Use diagnostic software to re-
trieve any service codes.
Check all sensors.
Verify that reverse system is in
proper working condition and not
limiting top--speed.
Verify that EMM is not in S.L.O.W.
mode.
Test regulator rectifier side of
EMM by connecting 8 and 12 pin
harnesses to a different EMM.
Leave 40 pin installed in suspect
EMM.
Verify that water injection solenoid
is operating on Virage i model.
Mechanical Check overall condition of engine.
Check compression.
Verify that the crankshaft is in in-
dex.
Verify that the flywheel key is not
sheared or missing.
Engine Will Not Shut Off Start/StopSwitch Verify operation of switch assem-
bly.
Ground ANY BLK/YEL while en-
gine is running. Engine should
quit.
Apply 12V to any YEL/RED while
engine is running. Engine should
quit.
Check operation of the LR mod-
ule.
Verify engine grounds.
Check resistance of the CPS.
Check pin 35 and YEL wire for
continuity.
False Warning Lights EMM System Check for codes.
Check for loose wires, pins, and
connections.
Verify voltages and resistances of
individual sensors.
Verify that reverse limiter is not
active.
