The device described in this manual is a 16" Pedestal Fan, available in models PEL01924 and PEL01925.
Function Description
This pedestal fan is designed for domestic use to provide cooling by circulating air. It features adjustable speed settings, an oscillation function to distribute air over a wider area, and an adjustable height and fan head inclination for customized airflow direction.
Important Technical Specifications
- Power consumption: 45W
- Main voltage: 220-240V~50Hz
- Dimensions (HxWxD): 1250 x 600 x 600mm
- Weight: 2.3kg
Usage Features
The fan offers several features to enhance user experience:
- Speed Control: The fan has a speed control with four settings: 0 (Device off), 1 (Low speed), 2 (Medium speed), and 3 (High speed). Users can select the desired speed by connecting the mains plug to a suitable outlet and using the speed control.
- Adjustable Inclination: The fan head's inclination can be adjusted by tilting it forwards and backwards. Once the desired angle is set, it can be locked into position, indicated by an audible click.
- Oscillation Function: To activate oscillation, the oscillation knob located on the motor assembly should be pushed down. To stop the fan head from oscillating, the knob should be pulled up. This feature allows the fan to sweep air across a wider area.
- Height Adjustment: The fan's height can be adjusted by slackening the height adjustment collar, sliding the upper section of the stand to the required height, and then re-tightening the collar.
Assembly
The fan requires assembly before use, involving several steps:
- Base Assembly: Set the base on a level surface, insert the end caps, and remove four screws. Use these screws to fix the stand's outer tube to the base, tightening them securely.
- Base Cover Trim: Temporarily remove the height adjustment collar, slide the base cover trim down the tube to cover the base fixing, and then refit the adjustment collar.
- Inner Tube Insertion: With the height adjustment collar loosened, extend part of the inner tube and re-tighten the collar. Loosen the locking screw at the bottom of the switch/motor assembly, insert the inner tube of the stand into it, and push it home, then re-tighten the screw.
- Rear Guard Installation: Unscrew the rear guard retaining nut from the motor shaft. Fit the rear guard onto the fan body, aligning it with the two pegs and holes provided. Lock it into position by firmly tightening the rear guard retaining nut.
- Fan Blades Installation: Push the fan blades onto the motor shaft, aligning the slots. Lock them into position by firmly tightening the retaining ring.
- Decorative Cap: If not already attached, fit the decorative cap to the front guard using the supplied screws.
- Front Safety Grill Installation: Mount the Front Safety Grill onto the Rear Grill by hanging the top hook clip of the front grille over the top of the Rear Grill. Close the clasps all around the grill. Finally, fit the nut and screw through the hole in the bottom edge of the front grill and tighten.
Maintenance Features
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of the fan:
- Cleaning: Before cleaning, the fan must be turned off and unplugged from the power supply. Use a soft cloth to wipe off dust. For heavier dirt, a damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry wipe.
- Prohibited Cleaning Agents: Do not use any chemicals, abrasives, or solvents, as these can damage the fan.
- Storage: When not in use, it is recommended to unplug the fan from the mains socket. Store the fan in its original packaging in a ventilated, dry area.
- Lubrication: The motor bearings are permanently sealed and do not require additional lubrication.
- Safety Precaution: Ensure the fan is switched off before removing the guard. Do not insert anything through the grille when the fan is in use.
