This document serves as a user manual for the PRORECK Concert Set and Venue Set, providing essential information for installation, operation, and maintenance of the audio equipment. The manual emphasizes safety warnings and important rigging information to ensure proper and safe use of the system.
The PRORECK audio system is designed for various event sizes, ranging from small to large crowds, and offers configurations suitable for different venue types and audience coverage requirements. The system primarily consists of subwoofers and array speakers, which can be combined to create either a "Concert Set" or a "Venue Set."
Subwoofer Functionality and Features:
The subwoofer is a powerful 12-inch twin cone unit, ideal for small to mid-sized venues and outdoor events. It integrates a 96KHz, 48-BIT DSP processor, offering four preset frequency curves to optimize sound output for different scenarios. Connectivity is versatile, with two combo XLR/Jack inputs allowing for a variety of audio sources, such as mixing consoles.
Key features of the subwoofer include independent volume controls for both the satellite speakers and the subwoofer, ensuring optimized sound reproduction and balance. A convenient button allows for effortless switching between mono and stereo playback modes, adapting to the specific needs of a performance or environment.
The subwoofer's control panel includes several important functions:
- Subwoofer Level (1): This knob provides independent control over the subwoofer's volume.
- Satellite Level (2): This knob allows for independent volume adjustment of the connected satellite speakers.
- Inputs (3): These combi-jack inputs are used to connect line-level sources, such as mixing consoles, to the subwoofer.
- Line Out (4): These XLR outputs are available for sending the audio signal to another subwoofer or an additional audio system.
- Voltage Switch (5): A crucial switch for selecting between 115V and 220V power supplies. Users must ensure the indicated voltage matches their local supply to prevent severe damage to the unit.
- Speaker Sockets (NL4) (6): These sockets are used to connect the subwoofer to the satellite speakers.
- DSP Indicator (7): LEDs that show which DSP preset is currently active.
- DSP Preset (8): A knob that allows selection from four distinct presets: Standard, DJ 1, DJ 2, and Live. Each preset is designed to optimize sound for different types of events.
- Bluetooth Switch (9): Activates Bluetooth connectivity. A steady blue light indicates a successful connection, while a flashing blue light signifies a failed connection. For TWS (True Wireless Stereo) mode, pressing and holding the Bluetooth switch for three seconds will activate it, indicated by a red light. A steady red light means a successful TWS connection, and a blinking red light indicates a failed connection.
- Stereo / Mono Button (10): This button toggles between stereo and mono playback. When engaged (pressed in), the signal is summed to mono; when disengaged, the signal is heard in stereo.
- Power Switch (11): Turns the unit on and off.
- Main Power Input (12): Connects the supplied mains cable to provide power. It is essential to use only the same type of fuse as originally installed (T5AL 250V).
Array Speaker Functionality and Features:
The array speaker is designed for larger crowds, offering wide 90° sound dispersion. Its robust construction ensures durability for live performances. A key feature is its serial/parallel connection technology, which allows for flexible positioning via a multi-angle line array positioning system.
The array speaker's control panel includes:
- Series Out (1): This switch determines whether the signal is passed from one speaker to the next in either series or parallel configuration.
- Input (2): Provides the audio input to the speaker from the subwoofer or another satellite speaker via a ¼” TS Jack.
- Parallel Out (3): Offers an output for a parallel connection via a ¼” TS Jack.
- Series Out (4): Provides an output for a serial connection via a ¼” TS Jack.
DSP Settings for Array Speakers:
The manual details four DSP presets for the array speakers, each tailored for specific audio requirements:
- Standard: Delivers a clear and accurate sound with low and high roll-offs and a slight mid-cut, making it suitable for theatrical productions, awards, and dinner events.
- DJ 1: Boosts bass to enhance dance music and party atmospheres, ideal for DJ and club events or larger venues.
- DJ 2: Provides a pronounced sound with low and high-end boosts and a slight mid-cut, designed to cut through audiences, perfect for pre-recorded music or mixed media events like weddings.
- Live: Engineered to provide energy and brightness for live musical performances, with high and low-end roll-offs to lighten the sound, suitable for live bands, solo performances, or small to medium-sized outdoor/venue stages.
Speaker Set Up:
The manual provides clear instructions for setting up the array speakers:
- Insert the front pillar into the slots at the bottom of the speaker to connect it to the stand adapter, ensuring both holes are aligned.
- Adjust the speaker angle by aligning the holes to the desired placement and inserting the safety pin, ensuring it is fully inserted.
- To connect multiple speakers, lift the bottom of one speaker to align its bracket with the hole in the top of another speaker, then fully insert the safety pin and adjust the desired angle.
- When not in use, secure the pins into the spare holes.
A crucial warning advises consulting a trained professional when using the flying frame for speaker setup.
Connection of Concert Set:
For the Concert Set configuration, the manual illustrates how to connect the audio mixer to the subwoofer. When using this connection method, it is necessary to release the button (circled in the diagram) to enable stereo output. This ensures that the audio signal is properly distributed for a stereo sound experience.
Connection of Venue Set:
For the Venue Set configuration, the manual shows a different connection method. In this setup, it is necessary to press the button (circled in the diagram) to enable mono output. This is particularly relevant when multiple subwoofers and array speakers are used to cover a larger area, where a mono signal might be preferred for consistent sound distribution.
General Safety and Maintenance:
The manual includes critical safety warnings:
- Do not open the cover; there are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified personnel.
- Avoid placing the product near heat sources, direct sunlight, excessive dust, mechanical vibration, or shock.
- The product must not be exposed to dripping or splashing liquids, and no objects filled with liquids should be placed on it.
- No naked flame sources, such as candles, should be placed on the product.
- Ensure adequate air circulation and avoid obstructing vents to prevent internal heat build-up.
- The mains plug is used to disconnect the appliance; ensure the mains outlet is easily accessible and remove the plug if any abnormality is noticed.
- Installation should only be performed by qualified personnel to prevent injury or property damage.
- Overhead rigging requires extensive experience, adherence to working load limits, and the use of certified installation materials.
- The installation should be regularly inspected for safety.
- The area below the installation must be clear of personnel during rigging, de-rigging, and servicing.
- The device should be installed out of reach of people and away from areas where people may walk or be seated.
The manual also outlines the contents of both the Concert Set (5 packages) and the Venue Set (7 packages), detailing the number of subwoofers, array speakers, power cords, tripod stands, adapters, and various cables included in each set. This information helps users verify that they have all necessary components for their chosen setup.
