The safety information provided in this
manual is very important.
Always Wear the Seat Belt
A seat belt is the best protection in all
types of collisions. The airbags are addi-
tional protection to the seat belts, but
do not replace the seat belts. The driver
and passengers should wear the seat
belts correctly all the time.
Child Restraint
Children aged 12 and below must be put
in the rear seat. Infants and small chil-
dren must use the child restraint system.
Larger children must use a booster seat
and the 3-point seat belt until they can
use the seat belt correctly without a
booster seat.
Know The Airbag Hazards
Airbags give protection to the passen-
gers. Airbags also can cause injuries to
the passengers if the passengers do not
or cannot sit correctly. Make sure all in-
structions and warnings in this manual
are complied.
Do not drink and drive
Alcohol and driving do not mix. Do not
drink and drive.
The Task of Driving
Drive safely. Monitor the road, other
vehicles and pedestrians. Make sure the
situation is safe as traffic conditions can
change.
Control Your Speed
Obey the maximum speed limit. Do not
drive fast unless traffic condition permit.
Keep Your Vehicle in Safe Condition
A tyre blowout or a mechanical failure
can be very dangerous. Regularly check
your tyre pressures and tyre condition.
Send the vehicle for the periodical ser-
vice maintenance as required.
Installation of accessories
Before you install any accessories, refer
to your authorised PROTON service out-
let.
The installation of accessories and op-
tional parts must be done according to
the limits approved by the law in your
country and according to the guidelines
and warnings contained in the docu-
ments that come with this vehicle. Only
approved PROTON accessories can be
installed in the vehicle.
Installation of any electrical devices for
example a vehicle immobiliser or a radio
transceiver, should not have any interfer-
ence with the engine management
computer or other electrical systems.
Malfunctions can occur.
Tyres and wheels which do not comply
with the requirement must not be used.

information on topic “Tyres and
wheels”.
Modifications or alterations to the
electrical or fuel systems

quality, any installation of accessories
or changes likely to affect the electrical
or fuel systems be referred to an author-
ised PROTON outlet as incorrect installa-
tion can cause damage or fire.
