A – Toggle switch
Use the toggle switch (A) to lock or un-
lock the doors.
How to lock the doors in keyless entry
system
Follow these lock procedures:
1. Before locking the vehicle, make
sure all doors and trunk lid close.
2. Make sure the remote transmitter
is with the driver.
3. Press the toggle switch (A) on the
outer handle of the driver door
when you are in the operation
range.
The vehicle system will operate as fol-
lows:
• The system will lock all doors and
trunk lid.
• The alarm system will activate.
• The turn signal lights will flash one
time.
• The alarm LED indicator will quickly
flash in 6 seconds. After that, the
indicator will flash normally.
• The side view mirrors will be auto-
matically folded.*
NOTE
The Keyless Entry system WILL NOT lock
the vehicle for some conditions as fol-
lows:
(1) The remote transmitter is inside the
vehicle.
(2) Doors, trunk lid or bonnet are
open.
(3) The ignition switch is in the ON po-
sition.
Key Left In Reminder
If the remote transmitter is inside the
vehicle, the doors will not lock through
the toggle button (A). The horn also will
make a sound (four times).
How to unlock the doors in keyless
entry system
Follow these unlock procedures:
1. Make sure you have the remote
transmitter with you.
2. Press the toggle switch (A) at the
outer handle of the driver door in
the operation range.
The vehicle system will operate as fol-
lows:
• The system will unlock all doors and
trunk lid.
NOTE
The first setting for the doors lock
and unlock can be different (refer
to page 37).
• The alarm system will deactivate.
• Outside mirror will automatically
unfold.*
• Interior lights will illuminate for 30
seconds (if the switch of the room
lamp is at the “DOOR” position).
• Turn signal lights will flash two
times.
