WARNING
Press the brake pedal when you
move the gear shift lever from the
“P” (Park) position to the other gear
positions.

NOTE
(1) Make sure you move the gear shift
lever to the correct gear position.
Check your gear position display in
the meter cluster when you move
the gear shift lever. Stay a while in
the selected gear position before
you move to the next gear position.
(2) If the brake pedal is not pressed,
the shift-lock-device activates to
prevent you move the gear shift
lever from the “P” (Park) position.
Gear shift lever positions
“P” (PARK)
Use “P” (Park) gear position when you
park your vehicle. In “P” (Park) position,
the gear locks the output shaft of the
transmission. This mechanism causes the
vehicle cannot move to the back or
front.
WARNING
Apply the parking brake when you
stop and park your vehicle to pre-
vent the vehicle moves to the rear
or front.
We recommend you to start the engine
in “P” (Park) position.
“R” (REVERSE)
When you engage the gear shift lever
to “R” (Reverse) position, you can drive
this vehicle in the reverse direction.
When reverse, the reverse lamp illumin-
ates automatically.
“N” (NEUTRAL)
When you engage the gear shift lever
to “N” (Neutral) position, the transmis-
sion disengages. Use this gear position
when the vehicle stops for an extended
length of time during driving for ex-
ample when there a traffic congestion.
CAUTION
When the vehicle is in motion, do
not change the gear shift lever to
the “P” (Park) or “R” (Reverse) posi-
tion to prevent transmission dam-
age.
WARNING
(1) When the vehicle is in motion,
do not move the gear shift
lever to the “N” (Neutral) posi-
tion. You can accidentally
move the gear shift lever to
the “P” (Park) or “R” (Reverse)
position and loss the engine
brake. These actions can result
in an accident.
(2) On a slope, you must start the
engine in the “P” (Park) posi-
tion: Do not start the engine in
the “N” (Neutral) position.
(3) Press the brake pedal when
you change the gear shift lever
into or out of “N” (Neutral) and
“P” (Park) position.
“D” (DRIVE)
When you engage the gear shift lever
to “D” (Drive) position, the vehicle will
be driven forward.
