of your accessory must be within the ca-
pacity ratingofyour power tool. Incor-
rectly sized accessoriescannotbeade-
quately controlled.
f) The arbour size of wheels, sanding
drums or any other accessorymust
properly fit thespindle or colletofthe
power tool. Accessories thatdonot match
the mounting hardware of the power tool
willrunoutofbalance, vibrate excessively
and may cause loss of control.
g) Mandrel mountedwheels, sanding
drums, cuttersorother accessories
must be fully inserted into the collet or
chuck. If the mandrel is insufficiently held
and/or the overhangofthewheelistoo
long, the mountedwheel may become
loose andbeejected at highvelocity.
h) Do not useadamaged accessory. Be-
fore each use inspecttheaccessory
such as abrasive wheels for chips and
cracks, sanding drum for cracks, tearor
excess wear, wirebrushforlooseor
cracked wires.Ifpower tooloracces-
sory is dropped, inspect for damage or
install an undamaged accessory. After
inspecting andinstalling an accessory,
position yourself andbystanders away
from the plane of the rotating accessory
and runthe power tool at maximum no-
load speed for one minute. Damaged ac-
cessorieswill normallybreak apart during
this test time.
i) Wear personal protective equipment. De-
pending on application, use face shield,
safety goggles or safety glasses. As ap-
propriate, weardust mask, hearing pro-
tectors, gloves and workshop apron ca-
pable of stoppingsmallabrasive or
workpiecefragments. The eyeprotection
must be capable of stopping flying debris
generated by various operations. The dust
mask or respirator mustbecapable of filtrat-
ing particles generatedbyyour operation.
Prolonged exposuretohigh intensity noise
may cause hearing loss.
j) Keepbystandersasafe distance away
from work area.Anyone enteringthe
work areamustwearpersonal protective
equipment. Fragments of workpiece or of
a broken accessory may fly away and
cause injury beyond immediate areaofop-
eration.
k) Hold power toolbyinsulated gripping
surfaces only,whenperforming an oper-
ation where the cutting accessory may
contacthiddenwiring or its own cord.
Cutting accessorycontactinga“live” wire
may makeexposed metal parts of the
power tool “live” and could give the operator
an electric shock.
l) Always holdthetool firmlyinyour
hand(s) duringthestart-up. The reaction
torque of the motor, as it acceleratestofull
speed,cancause the tooltotwist.
m) Use clamps to supportworkpiece when-
ever practical. Never holdasmallwork-
piece in one hand andthetoolinthe
other handwhileinuse. Clampingasmall
workpiece allowsyoutouseyour hand(s)
to control the tool.Round materialsuchas
dowel rods, pipesortubing have a ten-
dencytorollwhile beingcut, and may
cause the bittobindor jump toward you.
n) Position the cord clearofthespinning
accessory. If you lose control, thecord
maybe cutorsnagged andyour handor
