Safety warnings specific for grinding
andabrasive cutting-off operations:
a) Useonlywheeltypesthatare recom-
mended for your power tool andonlyfor
recommended applications.Forexam-
ple: do not grind with the side of a cut-
off wheel. Abrasive cut-off wheelsarein-
tended for peripheral grinding, side forces
applied to these wheels maycause themto
shatter.
b) Forthreaded abrasive cones andplugs
use only undamaged wheel mandrels
withan unrelieved shoulder flangethat
areofcorrect size and length. Proper
mandrels will reduce the possibilityof
breakage.
c) Do not“jam”acut-offwheelorapply ex-
cessive pressure. Do not attemptto
make an excessive depthofcut.Over-
stressing thewheel increases the loading
andsusceptibility to twisting or snagging of
thewheel in the cut and the possibility of
kickback or wheel breakage.
d) Do not position your handin linewith
and behind the rotating wheel. When the
wheel,atthe pointofoperation,ismoving
away from your hand, the possiblekick-
back may propel thespinning wheel and the
power tool directlyatyou.
e) Whenwheelispinched,snagged or
when interruptingacutforanyreason,
switch offthepower tool and holdthe
power toolmotionless until the wheel
comes to a complete stop. Never at-
temptto removethecut-offwheelfrom
the cutwhilethe wheelisin motion oth-
erwise kickback may occur. Investigate
and take corrective actiontoeliminate the
causeofwheel pinchingorsnagging.
f) Do not restartthecuttingoperation in
the workpiece. Letthewheel reachfull
speed and carefully re-enter the cut. The
wheel may bind,walkuporkickbackifthe
power tool isrestartedinthe workpiece.
g) Support panelsoranyoversizedwork-
piecetominimize the riskofwheel
pinching and kickback. Large workpieces
tend to sag under theirown weight. Sup-
ports must be placed under the workpiece
near the lineofcutand near the edgeof
the workpiece on bothsidesofthewheel.
h) Use extra caution when makinga
“pocket cut” into existingwallsorother
blind areas. The protrudingwheel maycut
gasorwater pipes, electrical wiringorob-
jects that cancause kickback.
Safety warnings specific for wire brushing
operations:
a) Be awarethatwire bristles arethrown by
the brush even during ordinaryopera-
tion. Do not overstress the wiresby ap-
plying excessive load to the brush. The
wire bristlescaneasily penetrate lightcloth-
ing and/orskin.
b) Allow brushestorunatoperating speed
for at leastoneminutebefore using
them. Duringthis timenooneistostand
in front or in line withthebrush. Loose
bristles or wires willbedischarged during
the run-in time.
c) Directthedischargeofthespinningwire
brush away fromyou.Small particles and
tinywirefragments maybedischargedat
highvelocity during theuseofthese
brushes and may become imbeddedinyour
skin.
Risk of injury!
Never work without dust protec-
tion mask and safety glasses.

als containing asbestos may not be machined!
For your safety, always wear
hearing protection while working!
Please do not dispo
