PurePower 2000/3000 Battery Tray removal.
Remember, there are high voltages (up to 600V) inside the unit that remain even when
the unit is unplugged from the AC supply. Make sure all the safety precautions are
observed.
The following precautions should be observed:
Remove watches, rings or other metal objects
Use tools with insulated handles
Do not lay tools or metal parts on top of batteries or heat sinks.
Do not contact components inside the top cover of the PurePower. High voltage is
present at all times whether unit is running or not running.
1. Turn off unit from front “On/Off” button. Unplug unit from mains.
2. Remove Phillips head screws from top front (4) and hinge the front bezel and face
plate forward. Support it so that controls can be reached easily.
3. Unscrew the 2 Phillips head screws connecting the fan support rail to the chassis.
4. Carefully move the fan assembly forward out of the way, leaving the fan wiring
connected.
5. The battery connector is immediately behind the fans. Disconnect the batteries by
grasping the battery connector, press to release the clasp and pull the connector
apart.
6.
To discharge the capacitors, press and hold the on button. The fans will briefly
rotate. When the fans stop it is safe to work on the unit.
7.
Unscrew the 2 Phillips head screws connecting the battery tray to the chassis.
8. Carefully slide out the battery tray. Remember it is heavy.
9. Replace and re-attach the fan assembly.
10.
Close the front Bezel
11.
Replace all screws.
