The TD-1261 Forehead Thermometer is a non-contact infrared thermometer designed for measuring human body temperature. It is suitable for use by individuals at home, as well as by medical professionals or in environments where a thermometer is needed. The device utilizes infrared technology to measure temperature, making it a convenient and hygienic option as it does not require physical contact.

Function Description

The thermometer measures the infrared heat generated by the surface of the skin over the temporal artery. This method provides an accurate and reliable temperature reading. The device can store up to 10 recent readings in its memory, allowing users to track temperature changes over time. It also features Bluetooth connectivity, enabling it to transmit data to a mobile device via a dedicated app. This allows for easy tracking, storage, and sharing of temperature data. The app can also be used to change the temperature unit (Celsius or Fahrenheit) and set up multiple user profiles.

Usage Features

The TD-1261 is designed for ease of use. To take a measurement, simply press the On/Memory button to turn on the thermometer, then hold the Scan button and aim the probe cover at the center of the forehead, within 3 cm. Release the Scan button to read the result. The device will beep twice to indicate a successful measurement. The display will show the temperature reading, along with a smiley face icon if the temperature is within the normal range, or a frowning face icon if it is elevated. The backlight will turn red for temperatures above 100.4°F (38°C).

The thermometer automatically turns off after 3 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life. It is recommended to wait at least 3 minutes between measurements to ensure accuracy.

Troubleshooting:

The manual provides solutions for common error messages such as "Err.1" (temperature is below or above the measurement range), "Err.2" (system error), "Err.4" (battery is low), and "Err.5" (Bluetooth connection error).

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning: The thermometer body can be wiped clean with a soft, dry cloth. The probe cover and lens should be cleaned with a cotton swab or soft cloth moistened with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Do not use abrasive cleaners, thinners, or benzene. Do not immerse the device in water or any other liquid.
  • Storage: Store the thermometer in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and humidity.
  • Battery Replacement: When the low battery indicator appears, replace the two AAA alkaline batteries. Ensure the batteries are inserted with the correct polarity.
  • General Care: Avoid dropping the thermometer or subjecting it to strong impacts. Keep it away from strong electromagnetic fields. Do not attempt to modify or repair the device yourself.
