This document describes the Qlima SRE 8040 TC and SRE 9046 TC portable domestic heaters. These heaters are designed for supplementary heating in residential homes, suitable for use in dry indoor environments such as living rooms, kitchens, and garages under normal household conditions. They are not intended as primary heating devices.

Function Description

The Qlima SRE 8040 TC and SRE 9046 TC are liquid fuel-operated mobile heaters. They feature an electronic ignition system and a fan to distribute warm air. The device includes a digital display that shows the time, set temperature, and room temperature, as well as error codes in case of malfunctions.

Key functions include:

On/Off Control: The heater is turned on and off using a dedicated ON/OFF button.
Temperature Adjustment: Users can set a desired room temperature between 5°C and 26°C using up/down adjustment keys.
Timer Function: A timer allows for automatic ignition at a preset time, provided the current time is correctly set and the heater is off.
SAVE Function (Economy Mode): This feature limits the temperature. When activated, the heater automatically switches off if the room temperature exceeds the set temperature by 3°C and restarts when the temperature drops back to the set level. This is useful for maintaining a frost-free environment or when the room is unoccupied.
3H OFF Function: When activated, the heater will automatically switch off after three hours of continuous operation. This setting can be deactivated during the countdown period.
Childproof Lock: This safety feature prevents accidental changes to settings by children. When active, only the ON/OFF button can be used to switch the heater off (if already on) or prevent accidental ignition (if off).
Fuel Level Indication: The display shows the fuel level, and an "OIL" indicator with an audible tone signals when the removable fuel tank is nearly empty. The heater will then automatically switch to its lowest burner setting for approximately 80 minutes before shutting down.
Safety Systems: The heaters are equipped with various safety mechanisms, including an anti-shock system (E01 code), an overheating prevention system (E07, E09 codes), and an incomplete combustion prevention system (E13 code).

Usage Features

Unpacking and Setup: Remove all packaging materials. The heater comes with a manual fuel pump and a transportation cap. Keep the original packaging for storage or transport. Ensure the heater is placed on a firm, level surface, at least 1.5 meters from walls, curtains, and furniture. Use the horizontal safety bracket to prevent curtains from obstructing the fan.
Fuel Filling: The removable tank should be filled in a suitable location to avoid spills. Always ensure the heater is switched off before refilling. Remove the tank, unscrew the fuel cap, and use the manual pump to transfer fuel from a jerrycan. Do not overfill, especially with cold fuel, as it expands when warm. After filling, securely replace the fuel cap and reinstall the tank.
Initial Ignition: When first used, the heater may emit a "new" smell for a short period; ensure adequate ventilation. Always ignite the heater using the ON/OFF button; do not use matches or lighters. Ignition takes approximately 45 seconds.
Operation: The display shows the set and ambient temperatures. Normal combustion is indicated by blue flames and a red burner grille. Yellow and blue flames indicate abnormal combustion, requiring troubleshooting.
Continuous Operation Limit: The heater cannot operate continuously for more than 56 hours and will automatically shut off after this period, even if the tank is refilled.
Safety Precautions: Always ensure sufficient ventilation in the room where the heater is used. Do not use the heater in dusty rooms, areas with strong draughts, or near water sources (baths, showers, swimming pools). Never cover the heater, as this poses a fire risk. Always switch off and unplug the heater before leaving the house or going to sleep, especially for extended periods.

Maintenance Features

The Qlima SRE heaters require minimal maintenance.

Fan Filter Cleaning: Regularly clean the fan filter (located at the back of the heater) to ensure optimal airflow.
Fuel Filter Cleaning: Periodically remove and clean the fuel filter. Tap it upside down against a hard surface to remove dirt; never clean it with water.
General Cleaning: Wipe the heater’s exterior with a damp cloth to remove dust and stains. Avoid using solvents or alcohol, as these are flammable and can damage the unit. For stubborn dirt, use a mild synthetic detergent.
Storage: At the end of the heating season, store the heater in a dust-free place, preferably in its original packaging. Ensure all remaining fuel is burned off or disposed of according to local chemical waste regulations. Always start a new heating season with fresh fuel.
Transportation: Before transporting, allow the heater to cool down, remove the removable fuel tank and filter, and empty the fixed fuel tank. Use the transportation cap and always transport the heater in an upright position to prevent fuel leakage. If incorrect or contaminated fuel was used, empty the fixed tank with a fuel pump before transport.

Warranty Information

The heater comes with a 48-month manufacturer's warranty covering material and manufacturing defects from the date of purchase. The warranty does not cover:

Indirect or consequential damages.
Repairs or replacements that extend the warranty period.
Modifications, use of non-original parts, or repairs by third parties.
Parts subject to normal wear, such as the manual fuel pump and vaporizer.
Damage caused by improper use, negligence, or the use of incorrect or expired fuel. Using the correct fuel (Qlima Premium Quality Fuels) is crucial for the heater's proper functioning and warranty validity.
