This document describes the Q50-M80-Q13-T48 coffee grinder-doser, a professional appliance designed for commercial use in environments such as restaurant kitchens, canteens, hospitals, bakeries, and butcher shops. It is not intended for continuous mass production of food.
Function Description
The Q50-M80-Q13-T48 coffee grinder-doser is designed to grind coffee beans and dispense the ground coffee. It features various models, including automatic, timed, and manual on-demand versions, each offering specific functionalities for dispensing ground coffee.
M80-Q50 Models:
These models are equipped with a ring nut pawl for grind adjustment. To achieve a finer grind, the ring nut should be turned to the LEFT (counter-clockwise). For a coarser grind, it should be turned to the RIGHT (clockwise). A security cone is fixed on the head of the beans hopper to prevent intrusion.
Q13 Models:
For Q13 models, grind adjustment is performed by turning the ring nut. Turning it to the LEFT results in a finer grind, while turning it to the RIGHT yields a coarser grind.
Dosing Adjustment:
The quantity of ground coffee dispensed can be adjusted using a specific nut. Turning this nut to the LEFT increases the quantity, while turning it to the RIGHT decreases it. The dosing device can deliver between 4 and 9 grams of coffee. To determine the desired quantity, users are instructed to take 10 doses (ten pulls of the lever) from the doser, weigh the collected coffee, and then calculate the weight of a single dose.
Electronic Versions (M80-Q13-T48, Q50 Electronic):
These versions feature a display and programmable settings.
- Operation: Before use, ensure the main switch is in the "0" position. Insert the hopper shutter and check its seating. Position the hopper firmly by pressing it laterally, then secure it to the grinding adjustment ring nut using the provided screw. Once coffee beans are loaded, the grinder-doser is ready. Open the shutter, plug in the appliance, and turn the main switch to "I". The display will show "READY".
- Dispensing: Ground coffee can be dispensed by pressing buttons for single, double, or triple doses. A "MAN" button allows for manual dispensing, which continues as long as the button is pressed (or automatically stops after 4 minutes).
- Programming:
- Single/Double/Triple Dose Time: Users can program the grinding time for single, double, or triple doses. Access the menu by pressing "MENU" for 3 seconds, navigate to "time dose 1/2/3" using "+" or "-", and confirm with "OK". Adjust the time in seconds (3 digits) and hundredths of a second (2 digits) using "+" or "-". Confirm with "OK" and exit with "ESC". The maximum settable time is 640.99 seconds for all three options.
- Stand-by Time: This setting determines the time after which the display enters power-saving mode. Access the menu by pressing "MENU" for 3 seconds, navigate to "STAND BY time" using "+" or "-", and confirm with "OK". Adjust the time in minutes using "+" or "-". Confirm with "OK" and exit with "ESC".
- Wear Grinders: Provides information on the total doses dispensed before grinder blade replacement. This value is editable. Access the menu, navigate to "WEAR GRINDERS", and adjust the dose count. When the maximum doses are reached, the display shows "WEAR GRINDERS". After replacing blades, reset the count by pressing "RESET" for 5 seconds in the "TOTAL COUNT OF EROGATED DOSES" menu.
- Set "READY" Message: Allows customization of the "READY" message on the display. Access the menu, navigate to "BAR message", and use "MAN" to move the cursor and "+"/"-" to select alphanumeric characters.
- Brightness: Adjusts the display brightness from 0 to 100%.
- Set Time and Date: Sets the current time and date.
- Total Count of Eroged Doses: Shows the total doses dispensed and remaining doses before blade replacement.
- Partial Count of Eroged Doses: Displays doses dispensed since the last reset (useful for daily/weekly tracking). Reset by holding "RESET" for 3 seconds.
- Monthly Count of Eroged Doses: Displays doses dispensed since the beginning of the month, with automatic reset after 30 days.
- Change Language: Selects the desired language for the display.
- Setup Password: Sets a 5-digit numeric password (0-9) for menu access. Default password is 12345.
- Option Password: Enables or disables password protection for menu access.
M80-Q13-T48 Automatic 6-Pulls Version:
This model features an optical reader that registers six uses, after which the machine automatically grinds again. It stops automatically when the doser is full.
M80-Q13-Q50 Timed Version:
Users place the portafilter in the fork, adjust the dispensing time, and press "START". The grinder operates for the preset time and stops automatically.
M80/EM - Q50/EM Manual On-Demand Version:
Users place the portafilter in the fork and press the button located above the fork. The grinder operates as long as the switch is pressed.

Usage Features
- Installation: Must be performed by qualified technicians in compliance with local regulations. Incorrect installation can lead to damage or injury.
- Placement: The appliance should be placed on a stable, flat surface, indoors, and at least 5 cm away from walls for proper aeration. Keep it away from sinks and water jets.
- Power Supply: Verify that the appliance's voltage and frequency match the electrical supply. Ensure the power distribution system can handle the appliance's maximum power absorption. Earthing connection is mandatory and must comply with safety standards. Before plugging in or switching on the main switch, ensure the appliance switch is set to "0".
- Hopper: The hopper must be securely fastened to the grinding system using the provided screw, inserted into the threaded hole on the upper grinding blade holder and the hopper neck.
- Grinding Blades: The grinding blades may continue rotating for a short while after the grinder-doser is switched off, so exercise caution.
- Motor Protection: The motor is equipped with a thermal sensor that disconnects power if high temperatures are reached. If this occurs, unplug the machine, allow it to cool, and contact qualified technical staff.
- Safety: Do not tamper with the machine or its connections. Any unauthorized modifications will invalidate the manufacturer's guarantee. Do not remove any screws on the coffee grinder, as this operation is only permitted for qualified technicians after disconnecting the appliance from the power supply.
Maintenance Features
- Cleaning: All maintenance and cleaning operations must be performed only after unplugging the appliance and allowing it to cool down.
- External Cleaning: Do not use abrasive cloths, sponges, or detergents on the body to avoid scratches. Use a well-wrung damp cloth and specific products for stainless steel, aluminum, painted surfaces, and chrome. Do not use direct water jets or steam machines on the appliance.
- Internal Cleaning (Food Contact Parts): Parts that come into contact with food can be washed separately by hand with water and dishwashing liquid. Do not wash them in a dishwasher.
