Hardware Requirements
Before you are able to fully use the NVR IP systems you need to make sure you have the
correct peripheral hardware connected.
Below is a list of devices you will need to connect to the NVR before camera footage
monitoring is able. You will need to connect them before powering up the NVR.
Monitor - Any computer monitor with a VGA or HDMI connecon.
Mouse - Either PS2 or USB connecons.
Keyboard (oponal) - Only takes a USB connector.
USB Flash memory storage device (oponal) - This to store, transfer, and backup
selected video clips/footage.
USB Hard drive - If you require more memory storage than the USB ash device.
ONVIF Standard IP cameras - Connect Cameras to POE switch then connect switch to the
NVR’s Ethernet port using a Ethernet RJ45 cable.
Power Lead - Connect supplied lead to the power port on the rear of the NVR, then plug
the other end of the lead into mains power terminal.
Network Cable (Ethernet) - Connect one end to the 'Net' Port on the rear of NVR, then
connect the other end to a network router.
Startup Procedure
Firstly connect IP camera(s) to the NVR's Ethernet PoE ports on the rear of the device,
using RJ45 Ethernet cable(s).
Before powering on the NVR, ensure that the display, network cable, mouse, and
keyboard (oponal) are all properly connected to the unit.
Power on display/monitor.

Note: Do not mix and match NTSC and PAL cameras. The Qvis NVR is designed to handle
only one video standard at a me. NTSC and PAL are video standards, which are used all
around the world. Each country uses one or the other but not both. NTSC captures video
at 29.7 frames per second, whilst PAL captures at 25 frames per second (the UK uses PAL
as its standard).
