Using DC Power
You can pow er the receiver from your vehicle's battery with an op-
tional
DC adapter.
Cautions:
~ You must use a po wer source that supp li es 4.5 Volts
ffi DC and de li vers at least 200 mA . Its center tip must
be set to negative and its plug must fit the DX-399's
DC IN 4. 5V jack. The recommended adapter meets these spec-
ifications.
Using an adapter that does not meet these specifica-
tions could damage the DX-399 or the adapter.
• Always plug the adapter into the receiver before you pl ug it into
your vehicle's cigarette-lighter socket, and un plug the adapter
from the vehicle's cigarette-lighter socket before you unplug it
from the receiver.
Fo ll ow these steps to use DC po wer.
1.
Set t he adapter's volt-
age switch to 4.SV.
2.
Insert the adapter's bar-
rel pl ug into the
receiver's
DC IN 4. 5V
jack.
3.
Insert the adapter's large
plug into the vehicle's
cigarette-lighter socket.
