Radio Shack DX-399 - Cancelling the CountDown Timer; Using the Display Backlight; Locking the Controls

When the countdown reaches the end, the receiver's alarm sounds
for about one minu te. If the radio is on at the time the countdown
ends, the radio turns off, and the alarm sounds. To turn the alarm
off sooner, press PO WER.
Cancelling th e CountDown Timer
To cancel the countdown timer, press PO WER or DI S PLA Y so the
current ti me appears, then press TI MER. The display shows the re-
maini ng co un tdown time and TIMER flashes. Press c. TIMER dis-
appears, and t
he current ti me appears.
USING THE DISPLAY BACKLIGHT
To turn on the back li ght for about 12 seconds, press iO . To turn it
off sooner, press iO again.
LOCKING THE CONTROLS
You can lock the controls to prevent accidentally turning the receiv-
er on or off , changi ng the band or frequency, or selecting other
front-panel buttons. Sli de · o-n up to · o-n to lock all the fr ont-panel
