For better reception in your vehicle,
you can connect a mobile TV
antenna (such as Cat. No. 15-1614,
not supplied) to the
EXT ANT
jack.
The TV is not “cable ready.”
CONNECTING AN
EARPHONE OR
HEADPHONES
For private listening, you can connect an
optional earphone or headphones with a

-inch mini plug. Your local Radio
Shack store carries a wide selection of
earphones and headphones.
Insert the earphone’s/headphones’ plug
into the television’s
EAR
jack. This auto-
matically disconnects the television’s in-
ternal speaker.
Listening Safely
To protect your hearing, follow these
guidelines when you use an earphone or
headphones.
Set the volume to the lowest setting
before you begin listening. After you
begin listening, adjust the volume to
a comfortable level.
Do not listen at extremely high vol-
ume levels. Extended, high-volume
listening can lead to permanent
hearing loss.
Once you set the volume, do not
increase it. Over time, your ears
adapt to the volume level, so a vol-
ume level that does not cause dis-
comfort might still damage your
hearing.
Traffic Safety
Do not wear an earphone or head-
phones while operating a motor vehicle.
This can create a traffic hazard and
could be illegal in some areas.
Even though some earphones or head-
phones let you hear some outside
sounds when listening at normal volume
levels, they still can present a traffic haz-
ard.
