  If the audio from your RADIXON Receiver is very noisy, ensure the Attenuator is disabled, and the RF filter is either disabled or set to Auto. Verify that your antenna is properly connected, the connector is not loose, and the antenna cable is not damaged. Check if the noise floor drops significantly when you disconnect the antenna. If it does, the antenna may be picking up too much ambient noise. Try improving the antenna or moving it further away from the PC. An outdoor antenna is preferable. Also, watch for ground loop problems.

  If the RADIXON Receiver application runs but there's no sound, when you tune to a known station, ensure you can see a peak on the demodulator spectrum scope. If not, check your antenna connection. If you see a peak but no sound, verify that: * The Mute button under the Audio tab is disengaged and the volume is set to a medium level (around 15). * AGC under the Gain tab is enabled and set to medium speed. * The squelch is disabled (the Enable button under the Squelch tab is disengaged). * The sound card output is properly connected to speakers or headphones, and both the Wave and Master volume controls are unmuted in the sound card control panel with levels adjusted appropriately.

  If the RADIXON Receiver software is sluggish or freezes, close other programs to reduce CPU load. Go to Options, select Demodulator Filter Length, and check the CPU load, ensuring it doesn't exceed 30%. If it does, decrease the filter length (but values under 200 may reduce selectivity) and/or limit the maximum DDC BW. Modern PCs, preferably dual-core or higher, are recommended for best performance.

If you can't suppress the interference at the source, install a better antenna, preferably outdoors. Computer networks are noisy, so an outdoor antenna is almost essential if your PC is networked. If the interference varies periodically with peaks about 30-100 kHz apart, the monitor or video card is likely the cause. Turn off the monitor; if the interference disappears, the monitor is the issue. LCD monitors generate less interference than old CRT ones.

  If the audio from your RADIXON Receiver is distorted, make sure that AGC under the Gain tab is enabled and set to medium speed.
