Question and Answer IconNeed help?

Do you have a question about the Rage SPINNER MISSILE XL and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Spinner Missile XL is a recreational flying device designed for outdoor use, featuring a parachute recovery system for gentle landings. It is an exclusive brand of HRP Distributing, Inc., manufactured in China.

Function Description

The Spinner Missile XL is a rocket-like device that launches into the air and then deploys a parachute for a controlled descent. It is operated using a single function button, which controls the motor run time and, consequently, the flying height. The device is designed to be launched from an included launch pad with stakes, ensuring stability during takeoff. After launch, the motor spins a propeller to generate thrust, and at the end of the flight time, the propeller stops, and a parachute is deployed to bring the rocket back to the ground safely. The device includes LED indicators for various statuses, such as power on, charging, and flight readiness.

Charging:

  1. Connect the included USB charge cord to the port on the back of the rocket and the USB connector to a power source (e.g., laptop).
  2. The main indicator light on the front of the rocket will be red during charging and will turn off when charging is complete.
  3. Charge time is approximately 40 minutes.
  4. Caution: Use only the included USB charger to charge the Spinner Missile XL battery. Other chargers may damage the product.

Operating Instructions:

  1. Place the base of the rocket on the shaft at the center of the launch pad so that it is standing upright.
  2. Press the Function Button to turn the unit on. The red LED will be lit when the unit is on.
  3. Short press the Function Button again for flight time selection:
    • One press for 7 seconds
    • Two for 9 seconds
    • Three for 12 seconds
  4. After the flight time is selected, the propeller will begin to slowly spin, and the yellow LED will turn on. This indicates the device is ready to move away from the rocket before it launches.
  5. About 5 seconds after the propeller starts spinning, the LEDs will switch from yellow to green, and the prop begins to accelerate for launch. During flight, all LEDs on the unit will be on.
  6. When the motor stops at the apex, the parachute will release, and the rocket will slowly descend to the ground. Only the red LED will remain on as a power indicator.
  7. To launch again, return to Step 1 of the instructions.
  8. When finished with flights, press and hold the Function Button until the red power indicator LED turns off.

  2. Fold the bottom of the parachute over so it touches the base of the nose cone.
  3. Push the release piston down, then carefully insert the parachute cords and folded parachute into the compartment.
  4. Push the nose cone down onto the compartment. Ensure that none of the parachute fabric is stuck between the nose cone and the parachute compartment.
  5. Make sure that neither the cords nor the fabric are pinched by the nose cone.
  6. Make sure that the lines are not twisted or tangled.
  7. For a more stable launch, install the included stakes as shown into a dirt or grass launch site.

Safety Warnings:

  • Read, adhere to, and follow all safety and operating instructions before use.
  • To avoid injury, do not touch the product while flying or the propeller while moving.
  • Keep your body and any loose clothing away from the moving propeller.
  • Do not modify or change this product without authorization.
  • Important: Observe the wind direction. The Spinner Missile XL will drift according to wind direction during its descent, so make sure you find a location that is free of trees or other obstructions that the rocket may get caught up in as it lands. For best results, make sure you have a clear space of at least 50 yards on all sides and avoid launching in winds that are more than 5 to 10mph.
  • To avoid damage to the rocket, choose soft landing spots like grass whenever possible. If any repairs to the foam are necessary, use a suitable foam-safe CA adhesive, like Super Glue.
