Application
1. Inspect tree for defects (cracks, cankers, root decay/damaged root flares)at the
base and trunk as these may impede the uptake of the product into the tree.
2. Inspect for organic material (mulch) at the base of the tree. Mulch can aect the
uptake of the product by the tree by not allowing the product to reach the soil.
Additionally, mulch obstructs the application sight line which may result in poor
product distribution in the soil.
3. If mulch is present, move it away from the base of the tree and application area.
4. Place probe 6” (up to foot peg) into soil as close as possible to the tree trunk
without hitting root tissue.
5. Fill HTI 2000 by holding down the fill button until the desired volume is achieved
6. Hold down the inject button to apply product to the soil. Volume meter will show
progress of ejected product. If at any time the volume meter stops while holding
the inject button or product becomes visible from soil, release the inject button
and finish injection at a new site.
7. If product is visible from soil, use the probe to poke holes around the area where
product is present to allow it to reach the soil.
8. Once the chamber has been fully evacuated, the digital injection counter will
automatically keep track of the number of injections performed.
9. Repeat this process and evenly apply the product around the base of the tree for
best results
10. When the application is complete for each tree, press the reset button to set the
counter back to zero
11. If organic material was removed before the start of application, move the soil
back into position.
• Products dier in total volume and concentration. In some
cases it may be more beneficial to use (8) 125ml application
doses versus (4) 250ml doses to more accurately distribute
the product around the tree.
• Never assume bare soil rests beneath mulch, rocks, or
landscaping. Products can rest upon black landscaping liner,
thus preventing the product from reaching the soil. This may
runo during precipitation events which can increase the
risk of aecting non-targeted species such as grass or other
plants in the vicinity.
• Make sure to monitor the uptake of the product into the soil.
If the product continues to bubble up and the soil is
oversaturated, it may be best to skip that tree and come
back to it at a later point in time.
• Do not apply if the ground is frozen. Uptake will be inhibited
and results will be unpredictable.
