Lighting of Approved Smokeless Fuel
When the last flames are extinguished and there is a nice layer of embers (5), add 2-3 kgs of
approved smokeless fuel. Spread the pieces evenly over the layer of embers.
Close the door and once the fire has a good hold close completely.
Damper - see adjustment of damper.
When the flames are clear and stable (6) - close the damper gradually.
The optimal position of the air damper for normal operation is position 3
Keep an eye on the stove when lighting.
During operation the door should always remain shut.
When firing, the smoke exiting the chimney should be barely visible ( just a flickering ).
When fuelling the door should be opened carefully to prevent smoke exiting the burning chamber.
Never add wood / approved smokeless fuel before there is a layer of embers,
RAIS recommend to add 2-3 kgs of wood / approved smokeless fuel within 3 hours (intermittent
operation).
