8 Water connection
8.1 Regulations for water connection
NOTICE
Connection to soft water
Make sure the residual hardness of the water is at least 4 dH if you connect
the unit to soft water. A soft water connection is not necessary.
Regulations for water connection in Australia
Units installed in Australia must meet the requirements of AS/NZS 3500.1.
Water hose
n
Supply and use a separate water tap for each unit.
n
Do not use any used water hoses.
n
Use a water hose at least meeting the requirements of IEC 61770, EN
61770, EN 13618 or of equivalent quality.
n
A water hose according to EN 61770 is enclosed with the unit. The materi-
als used in this connection hose meet KTW, DVGW W270, and FDA re-
quirements.
Drinking water protection
For a drinking water connection, a drinking water protection device meeting the
requirements of EN 1717 is required.
n
Adhere to the country standards and regulations for a connection to the
drinking water supply, including hygiene requirements.
n
In countries with special requirements for drinking water protection, a
check valve must be installed (item number 50.01.685). The check valve is
included in delivery in Germany and the Netherlands.
Water pressure
n
The water pressure (flow pressure) in the supply line is 1,5 bar-6 bar [22
psi-87 psi]*.
*Only Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden: 1,5 bar-10bar (22–
145psi)
n
A water pressure of 3 bar [43 psi] is recommended.
Water temperature
n
Cold water max: 30 °C [86 °F]
n
Hot water max (optional): 60°C [140°F]
