Initial Set Up and Navigation
Section Settings
Configuring sections on the field computer is critical for the OmniSeed system to control products and liquid
sections correctly during seeding operations. To properly map coverage for each product and shutoff sections,
the Viper Pro requires that sections be programmed from the left to right side of the implement based upon the
section midpoint.
Note: It is recommended to create a diagram for the specific implement section configuration and refer to
this diagram while programming sections.
1. After the Drill Setup screen, the Boom Section Settings screen will be displayed for the first section.
Review the following requirements when programming sections to ensure that the OmniSeed system will
properly map and control sections during seeding operations:
• It is recommended to draw a diagram of the drill or implement, especially if multiple liquid sections will be
controlled with the OmniSeed system. Use Figure 3 on page 58 as an example diagram.
• Sections must be programmed from left to right on the drill or seeding implement (see Figure 5 on
page 63).
• Determine the left to right order of sections based upon the midpoint of each section (see Figure 5 on
page 63).
• Overlapping sections should be programmed in the same product order to help simplify configuring sections
to products later. It is recommended to program the granular sections as soon as possible in the section
configuration to help identify granular sections later.
• If liquid sections are not of equal width, be sure to measure each section and note section left to right order
on the drill or implement.
2. Touch the “Section Width” value and use the on-screen keyboard to enter the width of the section furthest to
the left on the drill or implement. If multiple section midpoints overlap at the same location, select one of the
products to enter first (see Figure 3 on page 58).
