24.1UsingaDSCVHFradiowithyour
display
YoucanconnectyourDSCVHFradiotoyourmultifunctiondisplay
andshowdistressmessageinformationandGPSpositiondatafor
othervessels.
ConnectingaDSCVHFradiotoyourmultifunctiondisplayprovides
thefollowingadditionalfunctionality:
DistressMessageswhenyourDSCVHFradioreceivesa
DSCmessageoralarmfromanotherDSCVHFradio-equipped
vessel,thevesselidentication(MMSI),GPSposition,andtimeof
distressmessageisdisplayedonyourmultifunctiondisplay.With
thedistressmessagedisplayedyoucanusethebuttonsprovided
to:clearthemessage,placeawaypointonthechartattheGPS
positionofthedistressedvessel,orimmediatelystartnavigating
(GOTO)totheGPSpositionofthedistressedvessel.
PositionDatathe“PositionRequest”buttononyourDSCVHF
radioenablesyoutosendandreceiveGPSpositiondatatoand
fromothervesselsequippedwithaDSCVHFradio.
ForinformationoninstallingandoperatingyourDSCVHFradio,
refertothehandbookthataccompaniestheradio.

connectedviaNMEA0183.DSCVHFdistressmessagesare
NOTdisplayedforSeaTalkradiosconnectedtothedisplayvia
theSeaT alktoSeaT alkngconverter.
