5.1Switchingon
Whentheinstallationiscomplete,observetheSTATUSindicator
and:
1.SwitchonpowertotheAIS500transceiver.
2.Checkthat:
i.Whenpowerisrstapplied,theSTATUSindicatorashes
REDtwice,thenafterafewsecondsshowsAMBER.
ii.Afteratime(upto2minutes)theindicatorchangestogreen.
ThisindicatestheAIS500transceiverisoperatingnormally.
5.2Conguration

ThisRaymarineproductmustbecorrectlycongured,
toensureoptimumperformanceandminimizethe
chancesofunsafeorothererroneousdata.
Congurationrequirement
Afterinstallationandsuccessfulswitchon,theAIS500transceiver
mustbeconguredforoptimumperformanceaboardthevessel.
ThepersonconguringtheAIS500needstoknowthefollowing
vesselinformation:
•MMSInumber
•Name
•Callsign
•Dimensions
•Type
•GPSantennaposition
Themannerinwhichcongurationiscarriedoutdependsonthe
legalrequirementsofthegeographicalareayouare.
Important:BeforestartinganyAIScongurationprocedure,
SWITCHOFFallassociatedmulti-functiondisplays(MFDs),
otherwiseyouwillnotbeabletocorrectlycongureyourAIS500
transceiver.
