YourRaymarineproductmustbeservicedbyauthorizedpersonnel
toensureeffectiveandsafeperformance.
•Raymarineequipmentmustbeservicedonlybyauthorized
Raymarineservicetechnicians.Theywillensurethatservice
proceduresandanyreplacementpartsusedwillnotaffect
performance.Therearenouserserviceablepartsinany
Raymarineproduct.
•Someproductsgeneratehighvoltages,soneverhandlethe
cablesorconnectorswhenpowerisbeingsuppliedtothe
equipment.
•Whenpoweredon,allelectricalequipmentproduces
electromagneticelds.Theseeldscancauseadjacentpiecesof
electricalequipmenttointeractwithoneanother,withanadverse
effectonoperation.Inordertominimizetheseeffectsandenable
youtogetthebestpossibleperformancefromyourRaymarine
equipment,guidelinesaregivenintheinstallationsmanual.
Theseguidelinesenableyoutoensureminimuminteraction
betweendifferentitemsofequipment,andachieveoptimum
ElectromagneticCompatibility(EMC).
•AlwaysreportanyEMC-relatedproblemtoyournearest
Raymarinedealer.Weusesuchinformationtoimproveour
qualitystandards.
•Insomeinstallations,itmaynotbepossibletopreventthe
equipmentfrombeingaffectedbyexternalinuences.Generally
thiswillnotdamagethedisplay,butitcanleadtospurious
re-settingaction,ormomentarilymayresultinfaultyoperation.
•Attheendoftheusefulworkinglifeofthisproduct,itshould
disposedofinaccordancewithlocalregulations.
21.2Routineequipmentchecks
Raymarinestronglyrecommendsthatyoucompleteanumberof
routinecheckstoensurethecorrectandreliableoperationofyour
equipment.
Completethefollowingchecksonaregularbasis:
•Examineallcablesforsignsofdamageorwearandtear.
•Checkthatallcablesaresecurelyconnected.
