10.3Radarappoverview
RadioDetectionandRanging(RADAR)isusedonthewatertodetectthe
presenceofobjectsatadistance,andiftheyaremoving,detecttheirspeed.
Radarworksbytransmittingradiopulses,thendetectingreflectionsofthese
pulses(echoes)fromobjectsinthearea.TheRadarappisanavigationaid,
usedtoenhancesituationalawarenessbydisplayingavisualizationofthe
echoesreceivedbyaconnectedradarscanner.
TheRadarappcanbedisplayedinFullscreenandsplitscreenapppages.
Note:
•SomefeaturesoftheR
adarapprequireyourdisplaytohavebothaGNSS
(GPS)positionfixandcompassheadingdataavailable,e.g.:toenable
accuratedisplayofAIStargetsinrelationtoyourvesselandtoreport
geographicalpositions(LatitudeandLongitude)ofthecursorposition.
•RadartargettrackingandDopplerfeaturesarenotavailablein
LightHouse™Sport.
TheR
adarappallowsyoutoconfigurea[GuardZone]alarmwhichis
triggeredwhenanobjectislocatedwithinthespecifiedguardzonearea.
TheRangerings,thebearingringandaVRM/EBLcanbeusedtoidentifya
target’srangeandbearinginrelationtoyourvessel.
AIStargetscanalsobedisplayedandtrackedintheRadarapp.
