TheRSW-WiredisashortarmSmartWindtransducersystemdesignedfor
performancesailors.
TheRSW-WiredSmartWindtransducerisaprecisioninstrument,combininga
highperformanceAHRS3Dsensorwithintelligentonboarddataprocessing
noexternalprocessingunitrequired.Theintegrateddesignprovidesa
greatlysimplifiedinstallationandlow-latencyvaneresponsetimes.
TheRSW-WiredSmartWindtransducerhasthefollowingfeatures:
3DsensorandSmartWindtechnologydeliverimprovedwindspeedand
directionstabilityfromtacktotack,bycompensatingfor:
Boatspeed.
Leeway.
Masttwistandbend.
Mastrotation.
Dynamicvesselmotion(pitchandroll).

Embedded9-axisAttitudeandHeadingReferenceSystem(AHRS)sensor:
gyrooperatingon3axis.

3.2SmartWindTransducercompatibility
TheSmartWindtransducerusesNMEA2000PGN130306totransmitwind
datatothenetwork.AnyRaymarine®orthirdpartyinstrumentdisplay/MFD
(chartplotter)capableofreceivingthisPGNcandisplaytheSmartWind
transducer’swinddata.
However,tobenefitfromthefullrangeoffeaturesavailablewiththeSmart
Windtransducer,additionaldatasourcesarerequired.
UsingtheSmartWindtransducerinnon-Raymarinesystems
WhenusingtheSmartWindtransduceronanNMEA2000networkwhich
containsonlythird-party(non-Raymarine®)equipment,thefollowinglistof
restrictionsapplies:
LeewayandSaileffect(upwashcalculation)correctionswhichareenabled
bydefaultcannotbedisabled.
Rotatingmastconfigurationsettingswhicharedisabledbydefaultcannot
beenabled.
InthescenariothatnovesselheadingdataisavailableonyourNMEA
2000network(e.g.fromaheadingsensor)andyourmultifunctiondisplay
/chartplotterisnotabletoapplyamanualvaneoffsetangle,thewind
transducermustbeinstalleddirectlyonthemastcenterline.Thisis
becauseanoffsetanglecannotbeappliedtoaccountforthedifference
betweenthemast’scenterlineandthewindtransducer’sinstallationangle.
