RCA
70/25
communicates
with
peripheral
devices
through
eight
I/O
channels.

peripheral
device
contains
its
own
control
electronics
in
order
to
transmit
to
the
processor
the
status
of
the
device,
and
any
error
conditions
generated
by
an
I/O
command.
Each
channel
is
a
separate
simultaneous
mode,
allow-
ing
execution
overlap
with
other
channels
and
the
processor.
An
II
0
termination
interrupt
is
included
in
the
system
to
facilitate
efficient
use
of
these
powerful
overlap
capabilities.
