Overview

The Red Kite Baya Bouncer is a baby bouncer designed for infants from birth up to approximately 6 months of age, or until the child can sit up by themselves, with a maximum weight capacity of 9kg. It is intended to provide a safe and comfortable place for babies to rest and play, but it is not a replacement for a cot or a bed for prolonged periods of sleeping. Adult assembly is required for this product.

Function Description:

The Baya Bouncer serves as a reclined cradle for infants, offering a secure and adjustable seating option. It features a main seating section that can be lifted and adjusted to different height positions using a height adjustment bar. The bouncer is designed to be opened, adjusted, and folded for storage and transportation. It includes a safety harness to secure the child and a detachable toy bar for entertainment.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Age Suitability: From birth up to approximately 6 months.
  • Weight Limit: Up to 9kg.
  • Compliance: Complies with BS EN 12790 – 2009.
  • Assembly: Adult assembly required.
  • Adjustability: Features a height adjustment bar with three openings for different recline positions.
  • Safety Harness: Two-opening safety belt with a center button release mechanism.
  • Toy Bar: Detachable toy bar with clips for attachment to the seat frame.

Usage Features:

  • Opening the Bouncer: To open, lift the seating section upwards and slot the height adjustment bar into one of the three openings. Push downwards on the seat area until it clicks into place.
  • Adjusting the Bouncer: To adjust the height or close the bouncer for storage/transportation, pull the seat frame forward with one hand on the floor frame to unclip the adjustment bar from its bracket. Then, select a new height position or pull the clip (A) upwards to fold the bouncer.
  • Securing the Child: The safety belt has two openings, one on each side. To secure the child, push the belt parts together until they click. To release, press the center button. Always ensure the harness is fastened and adjusted at all times when the child is in the bouncer.
  • Attaching the Toy Bar: Push the clips on each end of the toy bar firmly onto the seat frame, either above or below where the harness is attached. It is crucial never to use the toy bar to carry the reclined cradle, as it is designed to easily detach if pulled.
  • Placement: The bouncer should only be used on a flat, level floor surface. It should not be used near stairs, steps, or sources of heat (e.g., household electric fires). It should also not be positioned close to items like curtains and electrical flexes that could pose a danger of suffocation or strangulation.
  • Supervision: The child should never be left unattended in the bouncer.
  • Transportation: The bouncer should never be used in a vehicle as a child restraint, nor should it be picked up when the child is in it.
  • Adjustments with Child: Do not adjust the reclined cradle when the child is in it.
  • Storage: Store the reclined cradle out of the reach of children when not in use. Do not allow other children to play with the reclined cradle.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Care:
    • The correct use and maintenance are essential for the reclined cradle.
    • Always store the reclined cradle in a dry place to prevent mould and mildew, especially in certain climates.
    • Dispose of packaging material, especially plastic bags, safely as they can be dangerous to young children.
  • Cleaning:
    • Cover: The bouncer cover can be sponge cleaned in situ using a mild detergent solution. For heavy soiling, the cover can be removed by unclipping the elastic loops on the bottom and pulling it off. It can then be washed on a gentle 30° cycle. After washing, lie the cover flat and dry it in a well-ventilated area, out of direct sunlight.
    • Cleaning Agents: Do not use bleach, ammonia-based, or abrasive cleaning chemicals on the cover. Do not dry clean the cover.
    • Toys, Frame, and Plastics: These components can be cleaned with a damp cloth and a mild detergent solution, then dried with a soft cloth.
    • Elastic Loops: Always ensure the elastic loops are attached to the clips before each and every use.
  • Inspection:
    • Regularly inspect all tubes and fixings to ensure they are secure before each use of the product.
    • Do not use the reclined cradle if any components are broken or missing.
    • Regularly inspect the fabric and stitching to check that it is undamaged.
    • Only use accessories or replacement parts approved by the manufacturer. Failure to do so may invalidate the warranty.
