This fan has three installation options:
INSTALLATION:
The 3˝ DOWNROD or HUGGER methods are preferred if maximum headroom is required. Blades will be approximately
8-10˝ from the ceiling. Airflow will be reduced when the fan is installed using the 3˝ downrod or hugger options.
The 6˝ DOWNROD method is preferred if the ceiling is sloped or vaulted, or when maximum airflow is desired. Blades
will be approximately 14˝ from ceiling using the 6˝ downrod.

This is the recommended mounting for ceilings 8´ and higher.
