Diesel
engine
speed
Diesel
engines
are
fitted
with
an
injection
equipment
which
prevents
the
engine
speed
being
exceeded
irrespective
of
the
gear
selected.
Running
out
of
fuel
After
the
tank
has
been
filled
when
the
vehicle
has
completely
run
out
of
fuel
you
may
start
the
engine
normally
on
condition
that
the
battery
is
fully
charged:
see
the
information
on
the
fuel
tank
in
Section
1
to
find
out
more
about
the
special
features
of
diesel
versions
fitted
with
high
pressure
(common
rail)
injection.
However,
if
after
a
few
seconds
and
several
attempts
the
engine
fails
to
start,
contact
a
RENAULT
Dealer.

Precautions
to
be
taken
in
winter
To
avoid
any
damage
in
icy
weather:
¢
Ensure
that
your
battery
is
always
well
charged;
e
Always
keep
the
fuel
tank
relatively
full
to
avoid
water
vapour
‘condensing
in
it
and
accumulating
at
the
bottom
of
the
tank.
Vehicles
fitted
with
diesel
fuel
heater
This
equipment
enables
diesel
fuel
to
be
used
with
no
additives
up
to
-18°C
or,
if
the
vehicle
is
used
regularly
over
short
distances
(cold
engine),
up
to
-5°C.
Do
not
park
the
vehicle
or
run
the
engine
in
locations
where
combustible
sub-
stances
or
materials
such
as
grass
or
leaves
can
come
into
contact
with
a
hot
exhaust
system.
