Do you have a question about the Rexing H1 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Rexing H1 is a highly sensitive trail camera designed for capturing photos and videos of moving game or for surveillance purposes. It features a 120° Passive Infra-Red (PIR) sensor that detects sudden changes in ambient temperature to trigger image or video capture.

Function Description

The camera operates in three modes: OFF, ON, and TEST. In OFF mode, the camera is safely powered down for tasks like battery or SD card replacement. In ON mode, the camera automatically captures photos or videos based on its current settings when triggered by the PIR sensor. TEST mode allows users to check and change camera settings via the built-in 2.4" TFT color display. This mode is crucial for configuring various parameters such as photo/video resolution, interval between captures, and time stamping. The camera can capture photos, videos, or both simultaneously during trigger events. It also supports audio recording with videos. A unique "Cam + Video" mode allows the camera to take photos and videos simultaneously during trigger events. The camera features a lightning-fast trigger time of 0.2 to 0.5 seconds (with a 0.2-second pre-boot). Side Prep Sensors provide a wider sensing angle and enhance response speed, and can be turned off if needed. The Time Lapse setting allows the camera to automatically and constantly take pictures/videos at specified intervals, useful for scouting large open areas. The Timer setting enables the camera to operate only during a specified period each day, and can be combined with the Time Lapse feature. A Serial Number setting allows for recording location information onto photos, which is helpful for multi-camera users.

Usage Features

The camera is designed for ease of use with a simple button layout (Up, Right, Shot, Ok, Left, Menu, Replay, Down) and a 2.4" TFT display for reviewing images and videos directly on the device. It supports various capture modes including Photo, Video, and Photo + Video. Users can adjust photo and video resolutions, set the number of photos per trigger (Photo Series), and define video clip lengths. Audio recording can be toggled on or off. The "Shot Lag" setting prevents excessive recordings of the same event by setting a delay between triggers. Side motion sensors can be enabled or disabled to optimize detection in different environments. PIR sensor sensitivity (High, Medium, Low) can be adjusted to suit the environment and reduce false triggers. A "Target Recording Time" feature allows the camera to be active only during specific daily periods. The Time Lapse mode is ideal for monitoring large areas by taking pictures at set intervals. Date, time, temperature, and moon phase can be stamped onto photos. Password protection is available to prevent unauthorized access. The camera can be aligned using the motion display in TEST mode, which lights up blue for side sensor detection and red for front sensor detection. Images and videos can be reviewed directly on the camera's LCD, via an SD card reader, or by connecting the camera to a computer via USB. A slide show function is available for automatic playback of photos.

Maintenance Features

The camera is built for durability with IP66 water resistance and can operate in extreme temperatures from -4°F to 140°F. It has ultra-low standby power consumption, allowing for an in-field life of up to 12 months with 8 x AA batteries. The device supports external 6V DC power for extended use. The memory card can be formatted directly on the camera, but users are reminded to back up important files first. The camera includes write protection features for individual or all saved recordings to prevent accidental deletion. Troubleshooting tips are provided for common issues such as photos not capturing the intended subject, short battery life, camera not taking images, power-up failures, and image/video quality problems. It is recommended to use new alkaline batteries and ensure the SD card is not full and correctly inserted with the write-protect switch off. The DC In plug should be securely attached to prevent moisture or ant ingress. The camera is lockable and password protected for security.
