Flame rod (Flame is visible)
If the spark is visible through the sight glass, refer to the
flow chart below to check flame rod.
Go to “STATUS” mode and use the “▼” or “▲” to “Tank-
less Status”, and press “ENTER”.
Use the “▼” or “▲” to “Flame Rod Status” while the unit
is operating.
Gas solenoid valve
If the spark is not visible through the sight glass, refer to
the steps to check solenoid valve.
Gas air ratio valve
If the spark is not visible through the sight glass, refer to
the steps to check gas air ratio valve.
WARNING: When cleaning or replacing the flame
rod/igniter rod, you must replace the gasket with the
Rheem approved gasket (a spare gasket is provided
with the unit). Improper sealing of the flame rod/igniter
rod due to a damaged or missing gasket can cause
unsafe operation or damage the OHL.
ERROR CODE DIAGNOSTICS
Turn Power OFF
Remove connector "H" and terminal on flame
rod, and reinsert them.
Remove & reinsert connector “C”.
Operate unit again.
If A011-Error code appears
Check gas-air ratio valve and
solenoid valve.
Replace Solenoid Valve
Check resistance to #5 (black) and
#3 (yellow) on connector “C”
Is the resistance between
0.8k Ω - 2.4 Ω?
Check resistance to the connec-
tor of the white Solenoid Resistor
clipped to the heat exchanger outlet
pipe.
Is the resistance 313 Ω - 347 Ω?
Replace the resistor.
Check DC voltage to #5 (black) and #3
(yellow) while unit is operating.
Is the voltage between 90-120 DCV
Check AC voltage to #2 (black) and #6
(white) while unit is operating.
Is the voltage between
108-132 ACV?
Flame rod needed to be cleaned
and is OK.
Turn gas ON and check for normal
operation.
Remove and clean flame rod.
Reassemble it, and operate unit.
Replace gas-air ratio valve
Replace Flame Rod.
Does Error A011 persist?
Replace control board.
Is the flame rod detecting flame?
