2.2 ERROR CODE LIST
A012 ERROR CODE
Unit Detected Flame and Lost It.
Venting
Check the condition of venting (Exp. The connections
of vents, the terminal vent top)
If the connection of venting is removed or the terminal
vent top is blocked by something, reconnect the vents
or clean the terminal vent top (Both inlet side and ex-
haust side)
Refer to section “1.1.2 Venting for direct vent water
heater” in this manual or refer to U&C manual for instal-
lation instructions.
Flame rod (Flame is visible)
Check the gas supply pressure at the gas connection
of the water heater.
ERROR CODE DIAGNOSTICS
Turn Power OFF
Remove connector "H" and terminal on
flame rod, and reinsert them.
Remove & reinsert connector "C".
Operate unit again.
If A012-Error code appears
Check gas-air ratio valve and
solenoid valve.
Replace Solenoid Valve
Check resistance to #5 (black) and
#3 (yellow) on connector "C"
Is the resistance between
0.8kΩ-2.4Ω?
Check DC voltage to #5 (black) and
#3 (yellow) while unit is operating.
Is the voltage between 90-120 DCV
Check AC voltage to #2 (black) and
#6 (white) while unit is operating.
Is the voltage between
108-132 ACV?
Flame rod needed to be cleaned
and is OK.
Turn gas ON and check for normal.
Remove and clean flame rod.
Reassemble it, and operate unit.
Replace Flame Rod.
Does Error A012 persist?
Replace control board.
Is the flame
touching the flame
rod?
Is error code
