IMPORTANT: Before using this product
please read this manual carefully. This
product should only be used for its
intended purpose, failure to do so could
cause damage to the machine, personal
injury and could invalidate the warranty.
CONNECTING THE CHARGER
1.Check the vehicle manufacturer’s
handbook for any special instructions.
2.Ensure the battery charger is unplugged
from the mains power supply before
connecting power leads to the battery.
3. Connect the lead to the charger voltage
to match that of the battery, Voltage: i.e.
12 or 24Volts.
4. Set the rate of charge to that required.
5. Check the charger clamps and battery
terminals to ensure they are clean and
free from oxidation.
6.Connect the chargers POSITIVE (Red or
+) lead to the POSITIVE (+) terminal on
the battery, and the NEGATIVE (Black or
-) lead to the NEGATIVE (-) terminal on
the battery.
7.Where the battery has electrolyte filler
caps on the top, slacken them to allow
any gases produced during charging
process to escape.
CHARGING THE BATTERY
1.Set the mode switch to “CHARGE”.
2.Set the required rate of charge by using
the charge power switch positions, (see
main panel).
3.Connect the charger to the mains
power supply.
4.Check the current delivery to the
battery on the ammeter on the front of
the battery charger. Initially there will be
a high rate of charge, which will slowly
decrease according to the capacity and
condition of the battery.
5.When fully charged the ammeter
reading should be close to “0”.
6.Switch the charger off and unplug from
mains then disconnect the power
clamps.
7.Tighten any slackened battery
electrolyte caps.
8.Check to ensure all tools are removed
before closing the bonnet or boot.
Do not leave a charging
battery unattended.
