OPC BELT
SM 6-17 G108
Detailed
Descriptions
6.4.4 OPC BELT SENSOR
The OPC belt sensor [A] is located above
the top left corner of the OPC belt. The
OPC belt sensor is a reflective type photo-
sensor and is responsible for detecting the
belt markers [B] & [C] located on the left
end of the OPC belt. The BCU uses the
signals from the OPC belt sensor to
calculate the position of the horizontal seam
[D] that joins the two ends of the OPC belt.
The printer does not use the area around
this seam when creating latent images.
6.4.5 QUENCHING
The erase lamp [A], located below
the contact point of the OPC belt and
the transfer belt, quenches any
residual electrical charges remaining
on the OPC belt.
The harness from the erase lamp
connects to DCN15 on the input
output device (IOD) PCB.
