(4) Open the top cover, and check the transport
belt for dirt, paper scraps, etc.
The transport belt is fouled by foreign matter and
malfunctioning.
Open the top cover, and check the transport belt
for dirt, paper scraps, etc.
1 Remove any foreign matter from inside the
printer.
2 Remove any paper scraps from inside the
printer.
1. Check inside the printer for foreign
matter. (ST), (NRC)
2. Check inside the printer for paper
scraps. (ST), (NRC)
(5) ST Descriptions
5-1 Operation impaired by other causes.
1. Harness disconnected, damaged.
2. The encoder sheet has slipped or is dirty.
3. Drive gears or other mechanical parts damaged.
4. Control board malfunction.
5. PSU defective.
6. Encoder sensor is damaged.
1. Check harness, replace (NRC).
2. Clean the encoder sheet (ST), or
install a new one (NRC).
3. Check drive gears or other
mechanical parts for damage (NRC).
4. Replace control board (NRC).
5. Replace the PSU (NRC).
6. Replace DC relay board (NRC).

Bias charge leak occurred.
Switch the printer off and on. If the SC error
occurs again, the printer requires servicing.
Condensation
Ink splatter in the bias charge path.
Charge roller is dirty, scarred, or damaged.
Damage.
Use the scroll bar on the Status Monitor screen to
scroll down and confirm the SC number.
Switch the printer off/on.
Remove the condensation
(1) On the Status Monitor screen, use the
vertical scroll bar to scroll down and confirm
the number of the SC code.
Use the scroll bar on the Status Monitor screen to
scroll down and confirm the SC number.
(2) Switch the printer off, and then switch it on
again.
Switch the printer off/on.
(3) Open the top cover and check the surface of
the transport belt.
1. Condensation
2. Ink splatter on the transport belt is causing a bias
charge leak.
Open the top cover and check the surface of the
transport belt for ink splatter.
1. If you see condensation, disconnect the printe
r
power cord from the power source and allow
the printer to dry at room temperature.
2. If you see ink splatter inside the printer, call for
service.
2. Clean the transport belt (ST).
(4) ST Descriptions
4-1 Operation impaired by other causes.
1. High voltage PP connector disconnected.
2. Transport belt is dirty, scarred, or damaged.
1. Reconnect the high voltage PP
(NRC).
2. Clean the transport belt (ST).
