4.4 LASER OPTICS
 Turn off the main power switch and unplug the machine before beginning any of
the procedures in this section. Laser beams can cause serious eye injury.
4.4.1 CAUTION DECAL LOCATIONS
Caution decals are attached as shown below
 Make sure to turn off the main power switch and disconnect the power plug from
the power outlet before beginning any disassembly or adjustment of the laser unit.
This machine uses a class IIIb laser beam with a wavelength of 657 - 663 nm and
an output of 15 mW. The laser can cause serious eye injury.
4.4.2 LASER UNIT
 Before installing a new laser unit, remove the polygon motor holder bracket and
the tag from the new unit.
Before removing the old laser unit
Do the following settings before removing the laser unit. These are adjustments for skew
adjustment motors in the laser unit, main scan start position, and laser diode power.
1. Plug in and turn on the main power switch of the machine.
2. Enter the SP mode.
