Error Name/Error Condition/Major Cause/Solution
Lower Limit Sensor and the Paper Height Middle Sensor were OFF and the lift
motor started lowering the plate but both the Lower Limit Sensor and the
Paper Height Middle Sensor are still OFF 20 seconds after the lift motor
started.
 Lift motor defective/disconnected
 Lower Limit Sensor defective/disconnected
 Paper Height Middle Sensor defective/disconnected
 Upper Limit Sensor 1 defective/disconnected
 Upper Limit Sensor 2 defective/disconnected
 A harness to one of the parts listed above is broken.
 PCB defective
Check if the SC occurs by turning the power OFF then ON. If the SC occurs again,
do the following steps. Check if the SC reoccurs by cycling the power after each
step.
To check for any abnormalities in the sensor and motor solenoid, be sure to
perform an input check and output check for them as needed in addition to a visual
check.
1. Reconnect the lift motor.
2. Reconnect the following connector(s).
 Lift motor
 Lower Limit Sensor
 Paper Height Middle Sensor
 Paper upper limit sensor 2
3. Replace the following harness(es).
 Lift motor
 Lower Limit Sensor
 Paper Height Middle Sensor
 Paper upper limit sensor 2
4. Replace the following electrical component(s).(Paper Tray Lift Mechanism)
 Lift motor
 Lower Limit Sensor
 Paper Height Middle Sensor
 Paper upper limit sensor 2
5. Replace the following mechanical component(s).(Paper Tray Lift Mechanism)
 Tray bottom plate
 Wires
 Pulley
 Feeler, etc.
