How to fix a blank LCD on RKI GX-6000?
    • F
      Frederick SullivanJul 28, 2025
If the LCD screen of your RKI Gas Detectors is blank, first, ensure the unit is powered on by pressing and briefly holding the POWER/ENTER button. If it still doesn't turn on, the alkaline batteries may need replacement, or the Li-ion battery pack may need recharging. Replace the alkaline batteries or recharge the Li-ion battery pack.

What to do if RKI GX-6000 Gas Detectors indicate flow failure?
    • D
      dguerreroAug 5, 2025
If your RKI Gas Detectors unit indicates flow failure and doesn't recover after pressing RESET, inspect the probe tube for any obstructions. Also, check the hydrophobic filter disk in the probe and replace it if dirty. Inspect the sample hose for kinks or obstructions and replace if necessary. You could also attempt to set the low flow setpoint.

Why does auto calibration fail on RKI GX-6000 Gas Detectors?
    • M
      Melissa PottsAug 12, 2025
If auto calibration or single calibration fails on your RKI Gas Detectors, check all calibration tubing for leaks or bad connections. If you are using auto calibration, ensure the auto calibration values match the cylinder gas concentrations. Replace the charcoal filter, as it may be saturated, causing an elevated CO reading. Make sure the instrument has been properly set up for calibration. Verify that the calibration cylinder contains an adequate supply of fresh test sample. If you are using PID sensors, clean the PID sensor’s lamp or replace the PID sensor’s electrode stack. If the fail condition continues, replace the sensor(s).

What to do if RKI GX-6000 Gas Detectors show abnormal readings?
    • M
      Mr. Michael OliverAug 19, 2025
If your RKI Gas Detectors show abnormally high or low readings compared to other gas detection instruments, replace the H2S scrubber disk or charcoal filter. Recalibrate the unit. If the issue persists, replace the sensor for the affected channel(s) and calibrate the affected channel(s).
