10.2 Cleaning/disinfecting the Accu-Chek Inform II system
Healthcare professionals should wear gloves and follow
their institution’s infection control procedures when
handling blood glucose testing equipment. See also
safety messages “Protection against infection and blood-
borne pathogens” on page 17 and “Allergy or injury
caused by reagents and other working solutions” on
page 18.
The gloves worn during cleaning and disinfecting should
be removed and hands washed thoroughly with soap and
water before performing the next patient test. Dispose of
acceptable cleaning and disinfection solutions per facility
guidelines.
NOTICE
Do not use cleaning/disinfecting solutions containing
the chemicals ether, polyhexanide, or prepared solutions
or wipes containing a mixture of bleach and detergent
on the system components. Use of cleaning/disinfecting
solutions containing these chemicals could result in
damage to the system components.
