Obtaining a Fingertip Blood
Sample

Wash and dry your
hands.

Make sure you select
the correct cap.
Adjust the penetration
depth by turning the
comfort dial.

Press the finger
pricker firmly against
the side of your
fingertip.
Press the release
button on the end of
the finger pricker all the way down to
prime the lancet and prick the finger.

Load the next lancet
by sliding the lever
forward, then slide it
back all the way.
The lancet counter
decreases one number.
Obtaining an Alternative Site Blood
Sample

Make sure you select
the AST converter
cap.

Dial the depth setting
to 5½ for forearm or
upper arm testing.
Dial the depth setting
to 3 for palm testing.

Press the finger
pricker firmly against
the selected
puncture site and
press the release
button.
Immediately lift the finger pricker o the
site.
Remove the AST converter cap by
pulling it straight o.
