2.7.12 Maintenance menu – Error history
This program is used to display log files containing information about host communication
events and errors that occurred during the operation of the system. Log files can be helpful
for system diagnosis and troubleshooting procedures. Two different log files can be selected:
• Error listing, containing specifically all available information about serious system errors.
(See 2.7.12.1 for more details).
• Host communication displays all available log file information concerning
communication with the host. (See 2.7.12.2 for more details).
2.7.12.1 Error history – Error listing
The Error listing log view displays all available error information present in the system.
Error messages in the log file have a syntax like this:

Message type
(1 character)
Code for the message type. 9 message types are
available in log files.
• "D" (Documentation)
• "U" (User)
• "F" (Fatal errors) – shown in the error log file.
• "E" (Intentionally triggered or unavoidable
errors without negative impact on the system,
i.e. motor errors)
• "T" (Trace)
• "A" (General)
• "I" (Input)
• "O" (Output)

System time
(6 characters)
Displayed as HHMMSS
(HH: hours, MM: minutes, SS: seconds).
Displayed as TTMM
(DD: days, MM: months).
Program name
(10 characters)
Every program has an internal name that is
displayed here together with the unit number.
Message number
(4 characters)
Message number for the detailed message text.
Internal error number
QNX (2 characters)
QNX provides a list for low level error messages.
This list is available in the QNX manual.
Internal error number

Return code or numerical value detailed within the
message text.
Text of the message
(up to 60 characters)
